Send Flowers Al T Christensen May 16, 1951 - July 25, 2013 Al T. Christensen "Big Al" CLEVELAND - Al T. Christensen, age 62, passed away July 25, 2013 after a well-fought 22 month battle with Lou Gehrig's disease, which he faithfully endured to the end. Al was born May 16, 1951 to James and Mary Wilson Christensen in Price, Utah. He married Doris Larae Gerritsen on August 6, 1976 in Huntington. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on October 7, 1977. Al graduated from North Emery High in 1969. He was a coal miner by trade, working the mines for 40 years. He enjoyed farming and ranching and had a love for all animals, especially cows and dogs, but his greatest love was his family. Al was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving humbly in many capacities. He and his wife, Doris, were privileged to be able to serve together in the Nauvoo, Illinois Mission from March 2012 to February 2013. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Doris; six children: Marc (Elizabeth) Christensen of Bountiful, Scott (Danyale) Christensen of Riverton, Bryan (Lynae) Christensen of Cleveland, Michael (Jodi) Christensen of Emery, Jeffery (Jennie) Christensen of Price, and Alisha (Kyler) McCarrel of Whitehall, Montana; and 16 grandchildren: Mary, Joshua, Isaac, Andrew, Logan, Aubrey, Whitley, Claire, Libby, Rhett, Kenzie, Koy, Jax, Baby J., Madison, and Haylee Jo. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Wilson; sister, Gloria Dean Edwards; brothers: JR, Clark, Tim, and Ned Christensen; and his beloved dog, Moe. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cleveland LDS Church (355 West 100 North). There will be a viewing Tuesday, July 30 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Church and on Wednesday, also at the Church, from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be in the Cleveland City Cemetery. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary. Family and friends may sign the guest book and share memories of Al at www.fausettmortuary.com.
