Ann Roundy

April 13, 1979 — December 12, 2022

After an over 7 year battle with metastatic breast cancer, our courageous wife, daughter, mother, and friend Annie passed away at Utah Valley Hospital on December 12, 2022. Ann Marie Roundy was born on April 13, 1979 to Roger and Marie (Jones) Nelson in Cedar City Utah. She graduated from high school in 1997. She stayed in the area and was working in customer service when she met her husband, Dale Roundy. They were married in the St. George Temple on June 15th, 2002. Dale received a job offer, so they, along with their newborn daughter, Emily, moved to Green River in 2005. It was here that Annie blossomed. She was readily accepted by the community and spent many years in service. She helped with the town's Melon Day's, and with the newly established Pearl Baker park. She loved children, and helped at the Elementary by serving in their community counsel, and volunteering to read with groups of children. Annie loved the chance to meet new people when she served. She felt that no one was a stranger, just a friend she didn't know yet. Which is why she loved working at the John Wesley Powell Museum for the last two years of her life. She enjoyed visiting with every customer that came in and her coworkers and made sure everyone felt seen and important. She had a kind, gentle, sweet soul that looked for the good in everyone. Throughout her adult life Annie was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Very rarely did she ever miss a day of church. She served faithful in the Primary, Young Womans and Relief Society organizations in various roles. While she never did complete a college degree, Annie was well learned. She took several courses on a variety of topics and had several certificates. Before she was married she took a cake decorating course, and loved to create beautiful cakes. She even created her own wedding cake with help from her mother-in-law Glenda, and loved to create birthday and wedding cakes for various people around town and her family. After she was married she completed an intensive art instructional course, and throughout the rest of her life loved to create art of various kinds. Most recently she would spend hours creating oil paintings which she would gift, and are beloved by many. She also loved to garden, learning by experience for many years before taking several classes on it. She took many courses from USU Extension later in life and enjoyed meeting her classmates and instructors every week. She is survived by her husband Dale Roundy, children Emily, Byron, Carter, and Farrah, all of Green River. Her parents Roger and Marie Nelson, Grandmother Ina Nelson, Sisters Janie (Ryan) Sabin, Krystal (Brad) Cole, Sammantha (Kevin) Lynch, and Janette (Daniel) Steele. There are also numerous other Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews, and In-Laws that will miss her smiling face. She was preceded in death by her beloved Grandpa "Pinky" Nelson, Grandparents Ordell and Loraine Jones, In-Laws Vern and Glenda Roundy, and sister-in-law Lynette Roundy. The funeral will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2022, 11:00 a.m. with viewings Friday, December 16, 2022 at 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm and on Saturday at 9:30 am - 10:30 am. All at Green River Ward Chapel.
