Biography Bertley Ray Jensen FERRON--Bertley Ray Jensen, Mom's #1 Cowboy, returned to the anxious and loving arms of his Father in Heaven on January 13, 2009, in Price, Utah. Dad was born April 29, 1928, in Castle Dale, Utah to Allies Ray and Jemima Irene Johansen Jensen. He married his forever sweetheart, Thelma Josephine Jensen, on June 30, 1951, in Cleveland, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on July 27, 1963. Dad was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as a Scout Master, High Priest Group Leader, Sunday School Coordinator, Executive Secretary, and a faithful Home Teacher. Dad was a friend to everyone and affectionately known as "Mr. Bertley". Dad loved to work with his hands and could make just about anything out of wood. He was an artist and leather craftsman, and he was never afraid to try anything. Dad was proud to be a real cowboy and loved to ride, break, and shoe horses. He began herding sheep at the age of 12 and loved spending time with his grandfather. Dad loved the mountains and camping, and spending time with his family. He loved gardening and bringing flowers to Mom. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Thelma Jensen; son, Sidney Jensen of Castle Dale; daughters, Sheree (Robert) Pollitz of Salt Lake City and Adele (Lane) Justice of Ferron; 21 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, with one on the way; sisters, Maurine (Allen) Hansen of Salt Lake City and Janet (Claude) Bell of Orangeville; and a brother, Roger (Susan) Jensen of Castle Dale. He was greeted in Heaven by his parents; sister, Geraldine; daughter-in-law, JoAnn Jensen; and grandson, Brett Justice. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 17, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at the Ferron Millsite LDS Ward Chapel. There will be a viewing Friday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary in Castle Dale and Saturday one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be in the Ferron City Cemetery. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary. Thanks Dad, for the legacy you have left us, for being Mom's forever cowboy and our eternal hero. We love you, Dad, and look for the day we will all be together again.
