Betty Carol Seitz Moffitt
Betty Carol Seitz Moffitt of Allen, Texas passed away June 10, 2024 at the age of 80. She was born to Robert and Vivian (Darr) Seitz on March 14, 1944 in Brookfield, Missouri. She was the second of three children. Betty moved with her family when she was three months old to Utah.
Betty had fond memories of growing up as a coal miner’s daughter. She graduated from East Carbon High School in 1962. Betty and Steven Moffitt grew up in the same town knowing him all her life. She married Steven Moffitt on May 3, 1963 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Solemnized February 7, 1973 in the Los Angeles Temple.
Betty worked for Western and Delta Airlines and enjoyed traveling and visiting new places. Her family and faith were her most prized possessions. Betty was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many capacities at church working with the Primary Children, Young Women, and Relief Society organizations. She also enjoyed serving as a missionary in Bonham, Texas.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Helen Hennefer.
She is survived by her husband, Steven Moffitt of Allen, Texas; children Michael and Aleta Moffitt of Rochester Hills, Michigan, Rodney and Ruth Moffitt of Smithfield, Utah, Kristin Whatcott of Carrollton, Texas; Gregory and Carly Moffitt of Herriman, Utah; grandchildren, Briton, Caitlin, Dylan, Keenan, Emille, Jaxon, Jaiden, Miles, Tyson, Drew, Grace, Olivia, and Katherine; great grandchildren, Theodore, Rosalind, Virginia, and Eleanor; and brother, Richard and Shanna Seitz of Salem, Utah.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 15, 2024 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1404 East Main Street, Allen, Texas. The family will receive guests for a visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday evening at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
Graveside service, Saturday, June 22, 2024, 11:00 a.m., Orangeville City Cemetery. Arrangements are in the trusted care of Fausett Mortuaries where friends are always welcome and may share memories online at www.fausettmortuary.com.
