He married Mary Joyce Purdy in September 1964 who died during birth of their first child. Then later married Karen Linda Leavens in August 10, 1968 in Taftville, Connecticut who later divorced.
He was raised in Indiana. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in the navy and worked in the ship yards. His hobbies were fishing, hunting, and reloading ammo.
He is survived by his daughter Heidi (John) Gragert, son Shawn Bonbrake, granddaughter Sarah Hopkins, ex-wife Karen Lemon.
He is preceded in death by wife Joyce Bonbrake, son Michael Bonbrake, daughter Bridget Hopkins, granddaughter Karen Hopkins.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021 6:00 pm at the Castle Dale Stake Center.
