She later graduated from Utah State University with a teaching degree. She loved teaching elementary students and had a passion to help them excel. She taught in many elementary schools in Utah, from Escalante to Tooele. Emma always went the extra mile to make her learning environment fun! Later in life, after retiring from teaching, she worked for her good friend at Nielsen Construction as a Secretary and had her own tutoring business. Emma acquired a love of music from her musically talented parents. She was part of a women's singing group where they performed at numerous events. She loved playing on league softball teams, and was a huge fan of Emery High School sports, Utah Collegiate Sports, the Jazz and listening to all their games on the radio. She especially loved cheering for her grandchildren and great grandchildren's sporting activities. She enjoyed attending community events, plays, pageants and parades. Emma blessed so many with her love of cooking and sewing. She enjoyed serving others and was always thoughtful to send a card and remember birthdays. She loved a good book and had an extensive library. She kept her mind sharp by playing sudoku. She loved her family very much and always supported their activities and events. She would travel far distances just to be able to support her family in whatever their activity or event might be. She loved attending family reunions, especially her cousin retreat. No matter how difficult her life and physical circumstances might have been, she always tried to stay upbeat, cheerful, positive and uplifted others. She developed this quality through the love of her Savior and tried to live her life by His teachings. She loved attending the temple and had great friends who helped her when it became difficult for her to get around. She had many friends, family and ward family who served her continually and faithfully. She loved serving in her many callings, and especially working with the youth.
