Gordon L. Keele GREEN RIVER- Gordon L. Keele, age 68, passed away on March 19, 2014. Gordon was born in Ferron, Utah on October 16, 1945 to Alfred Lareed Keele and Adrin Rasmussen. He grew up in Emery, Utah and graduated from Emery High School in 1963. He went to school for one year at the Trade Tech in Provo, Utah. The next year he completed the Highway Engineering Course at the College of Eastern Utah in Price. After graduation Gordon went to McGill, Nevada, where he procured work with Kennecott Copper. When Kennecott went on strike, they moved back to Utah where they both secured employment with Dynalectron Corporation at the Utah Launch Complex in Green River, Utah. Gordon worked at the missile base until the spring of 1971. Then he took employment with UDOT in field engineering where he worked on the construction of I-70 between Salina, Utah and the Colorado border. Gordon left UDOT in the early 1970's to work for Atlas Minerals in the Uranium business. When political events brought the uranium industry to a stand still, Gordon went back to work for UDOT. He retired with them in 2005. Gordon was known for his quick wit and sense of humor. He was a people person, he loved to visit or chat with just about anyone. He didn't care if you were 80 years old or 5 years old, he would strike up a conversation with you. He was an active member of the LDS Church and his greatest love was his family. His wife, children, and grandchildren meant everything in the world to him. He gave them everything he had. He is survived by his wife Janet of Green River, and children: Sherry Bailey of West Jordan, Debbie (Todd) King of Price, Wendy (Allen) Fluckey of Spring Creek, Nevada, Jennifer Bench of Blackfoot, Idaho and Kevin (Josi) Keele of Elko, Nevada; thirteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
