Helen Ruth Young Black PRICE--Helen Ruth Young Black, age 60, returned to her Father in Heaven November 12, 2010 in Price, Utah after a 50 year battle with Diabetes and Heart Disease. She was born on May 27, 1950 to George Oliver Young and Ruby Marge Love in Price, Utah. She married her High School Sweetheart, Guy Ross Black on June 25, 1970 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Helen had a passion for life. One of her greatest pleasures was her grandchildren. She loved being a part of their life. Dance recitals, birthdays, holidays and shopping trips were what she looked forward to most. Helen was blessed with a large extended family, and loved the loyal nature of her many close family members. She loved to get together with family and was often involved in coordinating the many family functions. She especially enjoyed the trips to St. George to visit her special friend and sister Jeniene. Helen had a great love for her three children and their unique lifestyles. She loved supporting their hobbies and talents from Dance Recitals, Concerts, Sporting Events and even the occasional ride on a Motorcycle. Helen was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Ladder-Day Saints where over the years she held many callings. She enjoyed serving in the Primary and Cub Scouts, especially when her kids were young. She loved being involved with the Relief Society, including her most recent calling as a Secretary. Helen had a strong testimony and love for the Savior. She enjoyed reading her scriptures, listening to the Prophet speak and attending the Temple with her family. Helen loved to read. She was a book club member and always had a book in her hand. She would read up to three books at any given time. Along with her reading, genealogy was a big part of her life. She enjoyed researching about her ancestors and the heritage of where she came from. Helen was a member of the American Diabetes Association and always contributed to that cause. She is survived by her husband Guy Ross Black; children: Griffin Black of Price, UT, Emily Black (Jeff) Wood of Price, UT, Garan Ross (Amy Wyner) Black of Clearfield, UT; grandchildren: Mandy, Brandy, and Macie Wood, Hailey and Kaleb Black; sister: Jeniene Young (Gale) Hamelwright of St. George, UT; mother-in-law: Earlene Allred Black of Huntington, UT; in-laws: Nina-Jean Young Liechty of Provo, UT, Pattie Brasher Young of Price, UT, Elizabeth "Liz" Yirak Young of Fruit Heights, UT, Lynn Black (Bob) Louie of Salt Lake City, UT, Lee Black (Clair) Cratensburg of Huntington, UT, Jacka Black (Russell) Jones of Castle Dale, UT, Drew Black of Huntington, UT, Gayle Black (Steve) McDonald of Huntington, UT, Wendy Sitterud Black of Huntington, UT, Allison Black (Larry) Kosikowski of Carmi, IL, Jill Black (Gordon) Anderson of Huntington, UT, and Roberta Black (John) Poglajen of Vernal, UT. Preceded in death by her parents: George and Ruby Young; father-in-law: Roscoe Black; brothers: George "Judd" Young, James "Jim" Young, Donald "Don" Young; brother-in-law: Dale Ray Black. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Price 7th Ward Chapel (995 East 700 North - Price, Utah). A viewing will be held on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary (680 East 100 South - Price, Utah) and on Wednesday from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Cliffview Cemetery. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary. Family and friends may sign the guestbook and share memories of Helen at www.fausettmortuary.com. The family would like to thank Timpanogos Hospital, Castleview Hospital and the many Doctors, Nurses and Emergency personal for the care and concern for Helen over the last few years.
