Ilean Janice Walters Wieand Goodwill, age 90, passed away on April 22, 2025, peacefully in Price, Utah after a full and vibrant life.
She was born on July 10, 1934, in Greece, New York, to Lillian and Arthur Wolters on a farm where she spent her early years.
Ilean was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and a cherished friend to many. Her best qualities include the sparkle in her eye, her sweet smile, her gentle laugh, her soft sense of humor, her strong-willed discipline, and her enjoyment of life.
She was dedicated to her work and passions. She spent many years at Rochester Gas and Electric as a payroll clerk and then became a military spouse. Ilean was known for her passion for bowling, with a remarkable average of 169 and an active role in both women’s and mixed couples bowling leagues in Sierra Vista and Fort Huachuca. She also managed several women’s tournaments and was an active member of the American Businesswomen’s Association and Gold Wives Association. Ilean was a devoted member of the Lutheran Church in Sierra Vista, Arizona.
She was married to James B. Wieand (later deceased), with whom she traveled the world as a military spouse, raising three daughters over the span of 20 years. Later, she married Harold Goodwill, who also preceded her in death. Goody and Ilean loved to go dancing and having a grand time playing at the casinos.
After her military years, Ilean settled in Sierra Vista, Arizona and later retired from her role as business manager at the elementary school of Fort Huachuca, Arizona. She later moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, before recently relocating to the Heirloom Inn in Price, Utah.
She is survived by her three daughters, Donna (Chuck) Ebeling, Castle Dale, Utah, Debbie (Jim) Hill, Castle Dale, Utah, Dawn (Andrew) Sahanas, Las Vegas, Nevada; she also leaves behind her grandchildren, Jessica Medlin, Pima, Arizona, Christopher (Paige) Ebeling, La Vernia, Texas, Hilary (Joe) McIntire, Winslow, Maine, Bryan (Vicki) Ebeling, Flagstaff, Arizona; seven great-grandchildren, Steten Romander, Cassidy McIntire, Wyatt Medlin, Juliette Medlin, Abby Ebeling, Paisley Ebeling, BreeAnna Ebeling, and Brody Ebeling; sister, Dorothy; many nieces and nephews.
Ilean was preceded in death by her parents, Lillian and Arthur Wolters; siblings, Glenn, Betty Marie, and Richard.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the staff at CNS, her nurse Autumn, and the Heirloom Inn for their exceptional care, kindness, and support during her final years.
