Jesse Russell Nelson FERRON - Jesse Russell Nelson, age 85, passed away June 5, 2013 at home surrounded by family. Russell was born December 15, 1927 to Jesse Rudolph and Jessie Blackburn Nelson. He and his wife, Connie, were married March 26, 1960. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. Russell was a lifelong resident of Ferron. He was a rancher, cattleman, and farmer. He also worked for and retired from the Emery County Road Department as a heavy equipment operator. He served his country in the Korean War. Russell was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in many capacities throughout his life. He will be known as a friend to many and known for his hard work and honesty, and as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Russell is survived by his wife, Connie; children: Valynn Nelson of Ferron, Brenda (Todd) Winder of Malad, Idaho, and Jess Russell (DaShai Guymon) Nelson of Ferron; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and two brothers. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ferron LDS Millsite Ward Chapel (35 West 200 North, Ferron). A viewing will be held Friday, June 7, 2013 from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary (720 North Center Street, Castle Dale) and on Saturday at the Church from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be in the Ferron City Cemetery. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary. Family and friends may sign the guest book and share memories of Russell at www.fausettmortuary.com.
