Jessie Winder

Jessie May Brinkerhoff Winder passed away December 1, 2016 of septic shock, strep, blood infection and kidney failure. She was born May 12, 1935 in Huntington, Utah in a brick house by a midwife to Clifford John and Violet Leona Allred Brinkerhoff. She lived in Huntington then Wattis, until her dad and brother John E. drowned in the Cleveland Reservoir in 1948. The miners got together and bought her family a 3 room house in Price because they couldn't live at the mine any longer. She met and fell in love with Floyd LeRoy Winder and they were married December 5, 1950 in Price, Utah in her family home, and was sealed in the Manti, Utah LDS Temple on December 13, 1963. They moved to Elmo, Pleasant Grove, Springville, and Spanish Fork then to Salem, Utah. There they had Darla. They finally made their home in Spanish Fork, Utah and had Eugene and Jess Ray. She taught Cub Scouts for over 20 years, a work director in the relief society, and was a primary teacher while living in Spanish Fork. She was a visiting teacher in Spanish Fork and Elmo. She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers in Elmo, Utah. After Floyd retired from Geneva Steel they made their home in Elmo, Utah so they could have a ranch and raise cows. She is survived by her daughter Darla W. Talbot Butler and her best friend James Cook, Spanish Fork, Utah, Eugene (Sherry) Winder, Elmo, Utah, Jess Ray (Diana) Winder, Spanish Fork. 10 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren and 1 on the way. Sister Hazel Ellefson, Federal Way, Washington. She is preceded in death by her husband Floyd, son-in-law Randy L. Butler, mom and dad, step dad Raymond Hampton, a grandson Brody Talbot, 2 brothers John E. and Jay Brinkerhoff, 3 sisters Rosalee Perkins, Kay Willson and Fay Powell. Upon the demands of mom, a graveside service will be held Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cleveland City Cemetery entrusted to Fausett Mortuary.
