Joann Bettino

March 7, 1934 — January 5, 2011

Joann Alfina Grundvig Bettino Wellington-On January 5, 2011, our beautiful mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, Joann Alfina Grundvig Bettino, age 76, returned to her Heavenly Father. She passed away peacefully at her home, where she has lived since 1952. Joann was born March 7, 1934, in her parent's home in Wellington, UT, to Lenard and Geneve (Jennie) Arnold Grundvig. She was the sixth of seven children. She married Joe (Junie) Anthony Bettino on August 11, 1951, in Wellington. He passed away on April 23, 1986. Joann was a lifelong resident of Wellington, where she had the responsibility at the age of 15 to open up and work in her parents grocery store "Len's Market" (now Cowboy Kitchen), until 1972, when it closed. She later became a cafeteria cook for Carbon School District for 11 years. Joann was an excellent seamstress. She was always sewing, making clothes for her family, the girls dolls, quilting and embroidering. She was a hard working woman, no matter the task. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints of which she served in several capacities, but she will always be remembered for her love and dedication to her Cub Scout boys as a Den Mother of 10 years. Having a strong testimony of the gospel, Joann taught her family to be honest, hard working, responsible members of society and to always "Believe, Be True and Remember" in all you do. She is survived by her 7 children; Lona (Scott) Every, Jana (George) Every of Price, Lana Bettino, Diana Bettino, Stuart (Deanne) Bettino, Todd (Toni) Bettino, all of Wellington, Tonya (Randy) Nelson, of Elmo, 3 sisters: Barbara Chambers, of Pennsylvania, Bessie Hanson, of Riverton, UT, Veloy (Rich) Wilder, of Wellington, sister-in-law Lorraine Grundvig, of Salt Lake City, UT, 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers, Billy and Arnold Grundvig, sister, Lena Waterman, and daughter-in-law Sharon Bettino. Funeral services will be held on January 7, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Wellington LDS 1st/4th Ward Chapel (50 N. 100 E.). As per Joann's request, there will be no public viewing. Interment will be in the Wellington City Cemetery. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary. Family and friends may sign the guestbook and share memories of Joann at www.fausettmortuary.com.
