Judith Riddle

November 11, 1942 — October 26, 2021

On the evening of October 26, 2021, our mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother graduated, with honors, from this life and returned to heaven to be with her eternal spouse and all her loved ones who have passed on before her.

Judith Morrine Riddle was born to Morris LeClair Cole and Mary Maxine Duke on November 11, 1942. She was the oldest of three girls. She spent most of her life in the San Diego County area until she moved to Emery, Utah on October 1, 1999. For her and our dad, there was no looking back. They loved their little town and referred to it as the Land of Zion.

A few words taken from a recently written memoir from our mom read, "Lots of things are who I am...one is a wife to my forever sweetheart; one is a mother to our seven children; another is a grandmother to our 38 [now 40] grandchildren and a great-grandma to two little girls, with three more great-grandbabies on the way [those three have since arrived and now two more are on the way.] -- and somewhere in all that is ME. Just where I want to be." Family was (is) the most important thing to her. She loved, and continues to love, them dearly.

Our mom had so many talents. She was able to throw a meal together in a quick snap. She loved to sew and was very good at it. She would sew baby blankets for all the new grandchildren. Some of those grandchildren still have those blankets. She even sewed her oldest daughter's wedding dress -- which she still has to this day. She loved genealogy and was, up until her illness, serving as a Family History Missionary. Working outside in her yard, rock gardens and rose beds was a love of hers. She would work long, tedious hours to make sure they were perfect -- and they were! She always, ALWAYS, put others before herself. She was a true example of Christlike love for all of us and she will be missed dearly. We love you mom, grandma, and great-grandma -- always and forever and to Flagstaff and back.

Judi married Donald Jewell Riddle (deceased) on June 11, 1965 and is the amazing mother to their children -- Craig (Karen) Riddle, DeDe (Brian) Judd, Jeff (Amy) Riddle, Paul (Bernadette) Riddle, Todd (Cristine) Riddle, Laura (Rick) Nelson, and Rebecca King.
