Kathy Ockey

Orangeville, Utah - Kathy Price Ockey, 72, passed away May 14, 2021, after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease.



Kathy was born February 6, 1949 in Dragerton, Utah to Owen D. Price and Glenna Cox. She was raised in Orangeville, Utah one block away from Royal Ockey, who she married on December 28, 1966. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on November 28, 1984. They celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary this last year.



Royal and Kathy operated a construction company together for many years. She took care of all the administration duties associated with running a business. She was instrumental in building Emery County Community Theater into what it is today. She spent countless hours in meetings and getting grants to put on spectacular performances.



Kathy was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served in many callings, including, Relief Society President, temple ordinance worker, primary pianist, and ward organist for too many years to count.



Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, David and Patricia, and in-laws LeRoy and Lenna Ockey.



Kathy is survived by her husband Royal, children Scott and Tina Ockey, Sara and David Hofeling, sister Connie Wickman, grandchildren Jordan, Taylor (Andy), Alli (Tim), Shawnee (Dustin), Faith (Jeff), Afton (Kyler). Great-grandchildren, Ruger, RinLeigh, Chaz, Haigen, Taytem, Bristol, Eva, Asher, Arie, Drayson, Daxton, and Deegan.



The family would like to extend a special thanks to Sandy, Mandy and Belle for the special care they gave mom towards the end of her life.



Funeral Service will be held Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 11 am at the Orangeville LDS Church, 45 West 100 South, Orangeville, Utah. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Viewing will be Wednesday, May 19, 2021 from 6 pm to 8 pm at Fausett Mortuary 720 No. Center Street, Castle Dale, Utah.
