La Peacock

La Ver Peacock, 96, passed away on October 30, 2021 in Elmo, Utah. She was born in Castle Dale, Utah on February 9, 1925 to Reuel Allen Jones and Wanda (Olsen) Jones. She married Garth Dean Peacock of Orangeville, Utah on January 23, 1946 in Castle Dale. They divorced 4 August 1976 and remarried on 21 April 1978 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They were sealed in the Manti Temple on April 23, 1996.
La Ver was raised in Castle Dale and graduated from Central High School. She belonged to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints throughout her life. She had one child, Richard Peacock. She moved many times following Garth"s work as a coal miner. She lived in Castle Dale, Price, Hiawatha, Wattis, East Carbon, American Fork, Moab, and Paonia, Colorado. Wherever La Ver lived she made life-long friends.
She worked most of her married life at a wide variety of jobs; such as store clerk, waitress, senior bus driver, and a road construction flag person. She loved to hunt and fish, and spend time camping at the Olsen Ranch. In Moab, she learned to bowl and it became a life-long pursuit. Her hobbies were many and she was often crocheting, knitting, or making quilts. She also had a beautiful singing voice.
She is survived by her son, Richard Peacock (Kathleen), 10 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 2 great great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Garth Dean Peacock, grandson, Ryan Glen Bastholm Peacock, and brothers, Keith R Jones and Le Moyne A Jones.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Castle Dale 3rd Ward, 165 West 800 North, Castle Dale, Utah from 1:00 - 1:45 PM. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM. Livestreaming of services will be available at Fausett Mortuary Facebook page. Interment will follow in the Orangeville Cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.
