Max Larsen

March 8, 1925 — January 28, 2017

Max Lorell Larsen March 8, 1925 - January 28, 2017 A sweet, kind man was reunited with his sweetheart today. Dad was 91 years young. Max was born March 8, 1925 in Cleveland, Utah to James Wilford and Lillian Greaves Larsen. He lived in Cleveland until high school graduation, and then served in the Navy from 1943 to 1945. Dad was a Gunner's Mate on the USS Suisun, and to be a veteran meant everything to him. Married Dora Lee Guymon on November 8, 1946, in the Salt Lake Temple. They lived their entire lives in Huntington, Utah. Dad was a professional truck driver. He ended his career with Western Coal Carriers, driving with Wilberg Mine to the Hunter Power Plant in Castle Dale, Utah. He always enjoyed those he worked with, and got such a kick out of everyone's CB handle. Dad was a true outdoorsman, whether it be fishing, hunting, snowmobiling or camping. Loved his beloved Cedar Mountain, which was a big part of his life growing up. He was a hardworking, loving son from an early age. He served a mission in Nauvoo, Illinois with our mom. This was such a special time for them. Dad's ultimate goal was to pass away at his home with his family, which he accomplished. Papa Max loved everyone, and was loved by everyone. Thank you for being such a wonderful example to us as children. Survived by his children Gayle Brown (Kent), Barbara Crawford (Jon), Leslie Cox, Max Guy Larsen (Kelli), April Satchwell (Chris), brother Jim Larsen (LaRae), sister-in-law Martha Larsen, 17 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, wife Dora, daughter Sheri, brother Gordon. Viewing on Friday, February 3, 2017 at Huntington Stake Center from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.
