Listen to Service Ronald (Ron) G. Jones, 76, passed away March 30, 2015 in Orangeville, UT. He was born December 14, 1938 in Castle Dale, UT to Pier Carlyle Jones & Martha Ruby McMahon and was later raised by Pier Carlyle and Dortha Jewkes Jones. Ron attended South Emery High School. He married his sweetheart, Sue Kirby on June 13, 1958 in Huntington, UT, and they were later sealed in the Manti Temple on October 13, 2004. Ron loved music, and played both guitar and bass for years with the Jones Brothers Band and the Val Jensen Band. Ron was an avid mechanic who could fix about anything, and he worked on many small engines in his shop. He worked for several years mining and driving truck. He also loved gardening. Ron was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and he strived hard to overcome many obstacles in his life. He was very generous--especially with his "pet projects." He loved rock hounding, hunting, camping and 4-wheeling, and he especially enjoyed fishing. He is survived by his wife Sue Jones of Orangeville, daughter Susan McGarry (Mark) of Santaquin, sons Richard Jones (Sandra) of Orangeville, Ronald Jones Jr. of Castle Dale; brothers Kelly Jones (Janet), Pat Jones (Laurie), sister Peggy Jones, and sister-in-law Kathryn Jones; 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Pete Jones, sister Lyla Steinhilber, step-brother Gene Welch, and step-sister June Welch Carvitto. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 3, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Orangeville 3rd Ward building,165 West 800 North, Castle Dale, with a viewing at the Fausett Mortuary in Castle Dale, Thursday, April 2 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and from 9:30 to 10:30 am, prior to funeral services. Interment will follow in the Orangeville City Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Fausett Mortuary. Friends may visit and sign the online guest book at www.fausettmortuary.com.
