Ruth Cox

Ruth S. Cox Ruth S. Cox, born April 22, 1925, was the 7th of 16 children born to Jesse R. and Edna Stilson Sitterud in Kenilworth, UT. Her family later moved to Orangeville where she spent the remainder of her 90 years. Ruth returned home to the arms of her loving Father in Heaven and sweetheart Fred Cox on February 12, 2016. She graduated from Central High School as salutatorian, where she excelled in sports and academics. Ruth was dubbed a "tomboy" as a young girl. She married her sweetheart, Fred Fail Cox on September 16, 1946 in the Salt Lake Temple. They made their home in Orangeville, where, as Ruth would say "she was blessed with eleven of the choicest spirits". Ruth worked at Orangeville City Office, Emery Mining Corporation and Emery Telephone Company. Her handwriting was impeccable and she was often asked to pen many certificates and documents. Ruth served in many positions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was well known for her Gospel Doctrine classes. Fred and Ruth served an honorable mission in the Jackson, Mississippi Mission. Ruth was preceded in death by her loving husband Fred Fail Cox, son Leonard Fred Cox, son-in-law Kerry Grange, daughter-in-law Sheri Cox, 2 great grandsons and 6 siblings. Ruth is survived by her children: Greg (Darla) Cox, Logan UT; Carol Kay Grange, Huntington, UT; Winona (Theron) Sondrup, Orem, UT; Thayne (Carol) Cox, Orangeville, UT; Leslie (Lisa) Cox, Orangeville, UT; Claudia (Richard) Webb, Spokane, WA; Courtney (Lorraine) Cox, Orangeville, UT; Nancy (Kent) Jorgensen, Castle Dale, UT; Selma (Todd) Jorgensen, Manti, UT; Edna Beth (Jed) Bailey, Green River, WY; many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, 2 brothers and 5 sisters. A viewing will be held Sunday, February 14, 2016 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at Fausett Mortuary in Castle Dale. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 15, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Orangeville 1st Ward Chapel. There will be a viewing from 10:00 - 10:45 am prior to services at the church. Interment will follow in the Orangeville City Cemetery entrusted to Fausett Mortuary. Friends and family may visit the online guestbook and share memories of Ruth at www.fausettmortuary.com
