Sally Thompson

SALLY H THOMPSON

On Monday, August 15, 2022 our mama ended her journey here on earth. She was released from all the pain and suffering she had endured for years. She passed away at Pinnacle Nursing and Rehabilitation in Price, Utah.

Sally Kay Hainsworth Thompson was born on Wednesday, April 14, 1937 to Herbert Earl Hainsworth and Sarah Catherine (Kate) Majors.

Sally's father died two weeks before she was born. Her mother married William (Bill) Douglas and he became the father she needed. Mom loved and respected him all her life and was grateful for him being her Dad.

Mom married Kirk F. Clawson and they had two daughters, Kelly and Kay. She later married Ray F. Campbell and the family moved to Lander, WY. The years we lived in Wyoming were happy ones that we cherished. Ray passed away in September 1970 and it devastated our mom. She later married Neil L. Thompson and relocated back to Utah. They were eventually sealed in the Manti LDS temple.

Mom remained in Price until October 2021 when she moved to Clawson, UT to live with her daughter Kay (Darrell) Stewart. Mom loved so many people and was loved very much in return. She lived a life of service and did what she could to help others. From a hot meal, opening her home for family and friends, being there for a hug or a shoulder to cry on.

She gave until she had nothing left to give. She was a faithful member of the LDS Church. She lived and served in Price UT for many years. She held many callings during her lifetime. She loved the little ones and for years would babysit her grandchildren and eventually great-grandchildren.

Mom became an adopted Grandma at Castle Heights Elementary in Price, UT where she volunteered for many years. She was affectionally known as "Grandma Sally". She loved all the kids she helped and the teachers she worked with.

Mom loved to crochet and many family and friends were recipients of beautiful afghans and snowflakes. She also loved making cakes. Whether they were wedding cakes or birthday cakes they were the most beautiful creations. She also worked with a caterer decorating for weddings, and that was probably her favorite job.

Mom is survived by her daughters, Kelly (David) Kirkwood of Price, UT, Kay (Darrell) Stewart of Clawson, UT and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her grandchildren are Kelli (Jeremy) Edginton, Nick (Leslie) Mills, Jason (Jennifer) Mills, grandaughter-in-law Melanie Mills, Kyle Kirkwood, Joseph "JD" Robinson, Kristen (Miguel) Acosta, Scott (Marissa) Stewart and Melody Hayes. Her great grandchildren are Alex, Dylan, Ashton, Sage, Lauren, Bryton, Kayden, Braxton, Mason, Aspyn, Drayden, Chandler, Holden, Easton, Abbie, Khylie, Angel, Alexis, Malachi and Ethan. She is also survived by her sisters Georgia McDonald of Lander, WY, Margaret (Gary) Pfaffenberger of New Harmony, UT and Pauline (Paul) Roberts of Cedar City, UT.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, her parents, an infant brother, Curtis Howard, her sister Lucie and brother-in law Byron Cook, and brother-in-law Mark McDonald. Two grandson's, Michael David Kirkwood, who died in infancy. She never got to meet him but she was so excited to. Buddy Ray Mills who left this world too soon in January 2019. She missed and mourned him every day and was so looking forward to being with him again. Now you have the answers mama.

Mom has many nieces and nephews she dearly loved but was especially close to her niece, Connie Harding. She is also survived by her "Sister of the Heart", Ramona Kaehl, and Beulah Jensen who was an Angel in mom's life.

Funeral services will be held at Fausett Mortuary in Castle Dale, UT on Friday, August 19, 2022 at 11:00 AM. Visitation 10:00 AM - 10:45 AM. Interment Ferron City Cemetery.
