Ted Mccandless

William Edward (Ted) McCandless "Mr. McCandless" Huntington Utah: Ted, age 81, died August 19, 2014 in Provo, Utah. He was born December 25, 1932 in Spring Canyon, Utah to William Raymond and Lauretta Fawn Geary McCandless. He married Carolyn Tew in the Manti Temple on May 22, 1958. Ted was raised in Castle Gate and later moved to Huntington. He received his Bachelor's Degree from BYU in Education. He was a school teacher in Carbon and Emery County for over 30 Years. He taught history, debate, speech, drama, art, math and industrial arts. He also worked as a Coal Miner, Mine Safety Director, Forest Ranger and farmer. He loved golf, hunting, trapping, traveling, fishing, rock hunting, painting, horse back riding, and spending time on the desert. He is survived by Carolyn Tew McCandless (wife), Children: Karen (daughter-in-law) of Orem, Wayne (Juanita) of Huntington, Sharon (Andy) of Huntington, Mike (Helen) of Huntington, 17 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. Siblings: Larae Kinder (Gale, deceased), Geary ( Marsha), and Jean (Vernon, deceased) He is preceded in death by Marilyn Arnold (wife), Donald Edward McCandless (son), Ray and Fawn McCandless (parents). Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 27th at 2:00 p.m. at the Huntington Stake Center (215 North Main St. Huntington, Utah). Viewing is Tuesday, August 26, 2014 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.at Fausett Mortuary, 720 N. Center St. Castle Dale and on Wednesday at the Stake Center 12:00 - 1:30 p.m. Prior to the Service. Interment will be in the Huntington Cemetery. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary. Family and friends may sign the guest book and share memories of Ted at www.fausettmortuary.com
