Vernon Lyons

October 24, 1956 — December 23, 2022

Vernon Patrick Lyons, 66, took his final nap on December 23, 2022 in Elmo. He was born in Price, Utah on October 24, 1956 to Vernon Gerald Lyons and Merlin Mae Lyons (Davis). He married Tina Johansen on December 26, 1981 in Cleveland, Utah. He was called Shorty, but he wasn't short on life. He paid taxes on both sides of the road and drove down the middle. Vern was a retired coal miner and a creative jack of all trades but master of none: bull rider, gardener, football and baseball coach, sheep herde, horseshoe tosser, bingo caller, and prospector. He would always say, "A job well thought out was half done." So many jobs were left undone. He is survived by his wife Tina Lyons; children; Dane (Evy) Lyons, Lakewood, Colorado, Jay (Crystal) Lyons, Hurricane, Utah, Ashley Lyons, Wellington, Utah, Kade (Ean) Lyons, Price, Utah, Braxton Lyons, Elmo, Utah; siblings; Linda (Clyde) Schubarth, Las Vegas, Nevada, Bob (Maureen) Lyons, Lyman, Wyoming, Danny (Collene) Lyons, Huntington, Utah, Christine Lyons, Phoenix, Arizona, Steve (Tammy) Lyons, Cleveland, Utah; grandchildren; ShiAnne, Aspynn, Aidynn, and Alyx; bonus grandchildren; Danny, Kace, Justin and DJ. He is preceded in death by his parents: Vernon Gerald Lyons and Merline Mae Lyons; and his parents-in-law: Roy Johansen and Velma Allred (Childs); and numerous aunt and uncles. The family will hold a private Celebration of Life service. Family and friends may sign the online guestbook and share memories of Vernon at www.fausettmortuary.com.
