Wendy Oviatt

Wendy Kayelyn Oviatt passed away April 21, 2024, at the age of 66. 
She was born on June 29, 1957, in Salt Lake City to Ronaldo Thompson and Naoma "Pat" Smithurst. She was raised by a loving father, George "Willy" Melton. Pat and Willy were married on March 17, 1979, in Ely Nevada. 
Wendy met the love of her life and best friend, Jay, in 1970. They married in 1974, and quickly kicked off a lifetime of adventures. They had two beautiful children, Patrick and Misty. 
She was a wonderful baker, cake decorator, and loved crafts that included sewing and quilting. She was always a spitfire. The quickest way to get her to do something was to tell her she couldn't. She was fiercely independent but loved her family just as fiercely. She loved to spoil her grandchildren and great grandchildren. 
She is survived in life by her children, Patrick Oviatt, Misty (Chris) Valentin; her grandchildren, Jamison (Kelsee) Oviatt, Dasia (Gentry) Lewis, Ellie Valentin; two great grandchildren, Brooks and Tuff Oviatt; and one great granddog, Lily. 
Thank you mom for everything you were, and all that you gave. May you forever rest in peace knowing you were and are dearly loved, and terribly missed.
Funeral service, Saturday, May 4, 2024, 12:00 p.m., Fausett Mortuary (680 East 100 South) in Price where the family will receive friends beginning at 10:30 a.m. Interment, Wellington City Cemetery.
